
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American singer, songwriter, and television personality who came to prominence as a pop star having won the telecast talent competition American Idol during 2002. Clarkson was raised at Burleson, Texas, a suburb located in Fort Worth, where her voice was first noticed by her school's choir teacher at the age of a seventh grader. After graduating high school, Clarkson went to Los Angeles to try to be a part of the showbiz. She was selected to compete for the Fox Broadcasting Company's American Idol singing competition, where viewers were able to vote for their preferred artist. Clarkson's charismatic voice, personality and sense of humor instantly drew the attention by the viewers. Her prize to win the competition was $1 million plus an agreement to record with RCA.
